Dressage in the Sandhills
Pinehurst Harness Track
May 9 – 11, 2025
2025 Prize List
Our Host Hotel is the The Residence Inn, 105 Brucewood Road, Southern Pines, NC 28387
910-693-3400. Located about a mile from Harness Track. Pet Friendly Special Viewpoint Rate .
In addition to singles they offer suites with 2 separate bedroom/bathrooms
plus a living room with fireplace & kitchenette (super buy instead of 2 singles).
Continental breakfast starts at 6.30, however coffee, juices & pastries will be
available earlier.
To create as much room in the warmup as possible we have set the rings closer together. Instead of going around the ring before your ride go into the ring as soon as the previous rider has done their final salute. To avoid confusion, be sure to tell
the scribe your number and name as you pass by. When the judge rings the bell you have the option of either turning and
coming down the centerline or going out and coming back in. When you have done your final salute turn and exit without
going all the way down to C before turning. I have heard only positive reviews about this system not only with the riders
but also the judges. Getting a horse inside the ring while another horse is still in there is a big plus for nervous horses!
Lunging is at the opposite end of the infield and is marked of with large orange cones.
Trailers owned by those stabled can park on the red clay track. Please don’t block the area in front of Barn 14. Unload and move your trailer as soon as possible to allow space for other trailers. There are empty stalls in the barns to help on the congestion.
Day parkers can park in the grassy area between barns 14 & 15, on the track in front of barns 16 & 17
and in the grassy area behind barns 6, 7&8.
The rings open for schooling on Friday and after the competition closes on Saturday until it gets too dark to see!
PLEASE remember to put your cell # on the stall card. At a prior show a horse got caught up in his hay net and there was no contact number on the stall. Luckily I was still on the grounds and managed to track down the owner.
OH – the most important thing. Free slushies are available in barn 14 opposite the show office.
Thanks to Teena Middleton & Ezium snacks and coffee are also available in barn 14.
FYI – Teena personally makes those muffins and they are FABULOUS!
Directions to the barns:
Barns 20 & 15: Turn left at the entrance and follow road around. Barn 20 is the big double barn. Barn 15 is the small barn further along. You may drive on the track and park on the track. Please do not block Barn 19 – that is a private barn.
Rest of the barns turn right and turn left at the small road just past the Fair Barn parking lot and before the grassy area. For Barn 8 turn right at the road just past the grass and just before Barn 11.
Next is Barn 11 (duh – guess you figured that out)
Then comes Barn 12 and then 14. Again you may park on the track – just please don’t block Barn 14.
We are planning on blocking off the road in front of Barn 12 to cut down on dust for the RVs parked there. The road on the right right before Barn 12 goes all the way around.
Word to the wise – don’t park on the golf course side of the road – many bad golfers.
Hightimes Photography
